Agilent Technologies introduced a suite of new products and workflows at the ASMS Annual Meeting 2026. The company focuses its latest technology on enabling faster discovery, scalable development, and more efficient laboratories.
Enhancing Laboratory Productivity and Intelligence
The launch features the new Agilent 9500 ICP-QQQ, which brings advanced ICP-MS performance to analytical laboratories. This system streamlines workflows, reduces sample analysis time, and lowers operational complexity. By removing technical expertise barriers, the system enables more laboratory personnel to generate accurate, reproducible data for challenging industries such as food safety and pharmaceuticals.
Agilent also expanded its gas chromatography portfolio with the new 8890B GC and 8860B GC systems. These instruments enhance laboratory performance, intelligence, and sustainability by processing more samples without sacrificing accuracy. The integrated GC Assist feature provides built-in system insights to ensure reliable results while reducing overall resource usage.
Furthermore, the company highlighted its award-winning innovation with the Infinity III LC with Pro iQ Mass Detector, which recently won the Scientists' Choice Award for Best New Analytical Science Product of the Year. This system achieved a Platinum score under the My Green Lab ACT v2.0 label, reflecting investments in energy transparency, smaller form factors, and recyclable materials.
Streamlining PFAS Analysis and GLP-1 Development
For environmental testing, Agilent offers specialized solutions for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The 1290 Infinity III PFAS-Optimized UHPLC, paired with Altura Poroshell 120 Ultra-Short-Chain PFAS columns, ensures robust regulatory compliance and repeatable results.
In the biopharmaceutical sector, Agilent aims to accelerate therapeutic timelines with automated digital tools. The BioConfirm 14.1 Data Analysis Software provides a fully automated toolkit for GLP-1 receptor agonist development, handling sequence characterization, non-canonical amino acids, and impurity analysis. Additionally, the Multi-Attribute Method (MAM) for OpenLab CDS v3.0 works alongside the 6230C LCTOF to streamline critical quality attribute (CQA) monitoring and compliance in regulated environments.
Corporate Vision and Core Mission
Company leadership underscored the ultimate purpose behind these technological developments. Jonah Kirkwood, Chief Commercial Officer, states, "Cancer treatments. Safe drinking water. Sustainable energy. Behind every human achievement, big and small, there is Great Science."
August Specht, Chief Technology Officer, echoes this perspective regarding the essential nature of scientific pursuit. "As champions of science, we know that Great Science is not just a worthy pursuit; it's an essential one."
Through these combined advancements in instruments, software, and services, Agilent aims to transition instruments from passive tools to active participants in laboratory workflows.
