Alamar Biosciences has launched the NULISA™ Dried Blood Spot (DBS) Extraction Kit, a workflow that enables researchers to run NULISA panels on microsamples collected at home. The kit supports dried blood spot and dried plasma spot samples collected on leading third-party remote sampling devices.
The workflow extends NULISA into longitudinal, decentralized, and population-scale research in neurology, inflammation, and population health. These study designs can face limits when they depend on venous blood draws alone.

Dried blood spot sampling converts a few drops of blood into a dried specimen that can ship at ambient temperature. This model can reach participants outside major research centers, reduce dependence on scheduled phlebotomy, and support repeat sampling in studies that follow people over time.
For proteomics, researchers still need to recover protein signals from small sample volumes across different collection devices while preserving low-abundance biology. Alamar designed the NULISA DBS Extraction Kit to address these challenges through a standardized workflow for multiplex protein measurement from remotely collected samples.
The workflow connects remote sample collection to Alamar’s NULISA technology. The platform detects low-abundance protein biomarkers in non-invasive biofluids with ultra-high sensitivity, high specificity, flexible multiplexing, broad dynamic range, and automated workflows.

The kit standardizes protein extraction across dried blood spot and dried plasma spot microsamples collected on leading third-party micro-sampling devices, including Capitainer, Telimmune, Mitra, and Tasso. In validation work, Alamar showed 85–95 percent target detectability across its NULISA CNS and Inflammation panels on most supported micro-sampling platforms.
