Dr. Dominika Buchberger graduated from the European Master's program, "Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion," in 2010. In 2016, she earned her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Warsaw. During her Ph.D. studies, she completed three internships at the University of Louisville in the United States and Tatung University in Taiwan. She completed a two-year postdoctoral internship at the University of Louisville, where she worked on a project funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. After returning to Poland in 2018, she joined the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw and took an assistant professor position. Since then, she has run four scientific and R&D projects on Li-ion batteries as the principal investigator. In 2021, she started a research group on the circular economy of Li-ion batteries. She is a motivated and passionate researcher in material science and solid-state chemistry. Her areas of expertise include processing and modifying solid-state materials for energy storage and characterizing them using advanced tools (Raman spectroscopy, XPS, SEM, TEM, EDS, X-ray and electron diffraction) as well as electrochemical characterization and battery recycling. She has published 39 original scientific papers, which have collectively received over 1000 citations. Her current h-index stands at 20.
