Ivan Hetman is a materials and environmental chemist based in Sweden. He is an associate professor in materials chemistry at Linköping University and a researcher at Region Östergötland, where he works with GC–MS and other chromatographic methods for occupational and environmental investigations. His research combines analytical chemistry, porous carbon materials, water treatment, and life cycle assessment, with a strong focus on practical sustainability questions in laboratory and environmental systems. He is the author of the 2026 Green Chemistry paper on the life cycle assessment of helium and hydrogen as carrier gases in gas chromatography.
