Bruker Corporation’s Microbiology & Infection Diagnostics division is showcasing its expanding portfolio at ASM Microbe 2026 in Washington. The portfolio spans microbial identification, sepsis diagnostics, molecular testing, and next-generation sequencing workflows, with a focus on clinical research and faster infectious disease diagnostics.
Bruker is highlighting expanded clinical capabilities for the MALDI Biotyper® CA System through FDA Claims 7 and 8. The updates support broader microbial identification in clinical laboratories.
The enhancements include MBT Compass® HT CA software, MBT FAST™ Shuttle US IVD, and an expanded FDA-cleared reference library covering 549 clinically validated microbial species across bacteria, anaerobes, and yeasts.
Bruker is also focusing on bloodstream infection and sepsis diagnostics. The company has outlined a new vision to advance rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing in clinical microbiology.
Together with the MALDI Biotyper CA System and Bruker Arc™ automated sample preparation solution for positive blood cultures, the rapid AST workflow under development aims to enable faster, actionable diagnostics for earlier clinical decision-making in critically ill patients.

Bruker is introducing several new solutions for MALDI Biotyper RUO/GP systems to the U.S. market, following their recent launch at ESCMID Global 2026. These include the MBT Easy T® Kit (GP), MBT Compass HT RUO/GP v.500 with an expanded library covering 5,325 species, and the MBT HT Library Creator (RUO).
The latest RUO/GP library expansion adds more than 600 species, including approximately 30 percent improved coverage of filamentous fungi. The MBT HT Library Creator (RUO) Module enables laboratories to generate, manage, and share custom libraries within the MBT Compass HT environment for research purposes.
The company is also introducing new classifiers for the IR Biotyper® to enhance rapid outbreak investigation and surveillance capabilities.
In the realm of NGS and molecular diagnostics, Bruker is introducing MBioSEQ® Ridom Typer software (RUO) to the U.S. market at ASM Microbe 2026. The software supports reflex NGS testing as an extension of microbial identification and outbreak analysis workflows.
Together, MALDI Biotyper, IR Biotyper, and MBioSEQ Ridom Typer reflex testing create a workflow that helps laboratories move from identification to epidemiological insight and genomic characterization.
