Riva del Garda hosts both symposia again this May. Chaired by Prof. Luigi Mondello with Prof. Pat Sandra as Honorary Chairman, the meeting at the Congress Centre remains the primary international forum for capillary-scale separations and comprehensive two-dimensional GC.

Program Highlights

This year's sessions centre on comprehensive separation technologies and MS hyphenation — from unit-mass to high-resolution analyzers, single to hybrid configurations. Applied tracks cover environmental, biomedical, pharmaceutical, and petrochemical workflows. Dedicated hot-topic sessions address PFAS analysis, AI and data analytics, 3D-printed analytical devices, and MS coupled to miniaturized systems.

Speakers

The ISCC program features Janusz Pawliszyn (University of Waterloo) on whole-column imaging cIEF–MS for native protein characterization, Robert Kennedy (University of Michigan) on high-throughput capillary LC for reaction screening and enzyme engineering, and Gert Desmet (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) on future directions in capillary nano-HPLC column technology. Elia Psillakis (Technical University of Crete), recipient of the 2025 Chromatographic Society Silver Jubilee Medal, presents on green analytical design in microextraction.

The GC×GC program includes Philip Marriott (Monash University) on 3D-printed modulator innovations, Jean-François Focant (University of Liège) on volatolomics for disease diagnosis, and Frank Dorman (Dartmouth College/Waters) on multidimensional PFAS characterization across environmental and food matrices. Chiara Cordero (University of Turin) examines GC×GC as a platform for predictive analytical science.

Short Courses

Pre-symposium short courses run Sunday, May 17. The morning session covers GC×GC fundamentals, optimization, and applications. New for 2026: an afternoon LC×LC course covering basic principles through instrumentation and applications.
