LabVantage Solutions has launched LabVantage CORTEX, a next-generation artificial intelligence (AI), analytics, and automation platform designed to expand the capabilities of its laboratory information management system (LIMS). The platform integrates advanced AI and automation into the LabVantage LIMS environment to help laboratories improve efficiency, reduce errors, and gain deeper insight from laboratory data.
LabVantage developed the platform to support growing demand for intelligent, automated laboratory environments across sectors including pharmaceutical and biotechnology, food and beverage, oil and gas, and forensics. LabVantage CORTEX provides an AI-driven ecosystem that helps laboratories strengthen operational efficiency while accelerating research and development efforts.
The launch comes at a time when laboratories increasingly explore AI adoption. A recent survey by Pistoia Alliance in partnership with Lab of the Future found that more than 75% of laboratories plan to implement artificial intelligence or machine learning technologies within the next two years. LabVantage CORTEX expands the capabilities of LabVantage LIMS and supports more adaptive and self-optimizing laboratory environments.

LabVantage CORTEX combines AI-driven capabilities with the established LabVantage LIMS environment. The platform operates as a multi-tenant, cloud-native system where autonomous AI agents manage complex laboratory tasks within the LIMS framework.
This architecture enables laboratories to adopt new AI capabilities without requiring a full system replacement. The cloud-native Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform also provides an upgrade path for existing LabVantage customers.
LabVantage CORTEX integrates with Internet of Things (IoT) devices and digital twin technologies. These integrations support real-time environmental monitoring, predictive maintenance, and proactive laboratory management. The company designed these capabilities to help laboratories maintain agility and scale operations as future requirements evolve.
