Sartorius has launched the Eveo Cell Therapy Platform, an integrated system designed to improve efficiency in the production and quality control of autologous cell therapies. The modular platform addresses manufacturing bottlenecks that limit scalability and patient access to treatments such as CAR-T therapies.
The Eveo Cell Therapy Platform introduces an automated, multi-parallel production approach intended to expand manufacturing capacity while reducing costs and processing time. Its compact design supports implementation in existing cleanroom environments and enables intensified production within the same footprint.

With our integrated platform, we are tackling these structural bottlenecks head-on. By combining raw materials, production equipment, software and QC assays into a scalable system, we enable our customers to expand output, significantly reduce cost per dose and shorten vein-to-vein time for patients.”
Traditional manufacturing models for autologous cell therapies rely on centralized facilities that require significant greenfield investment, staff recruitment, training, and multi-year construction timelines. Despite these investments, manufacturing and process-related issues account for around 60 percent of regulatory disruptions in cell therapy production.
The Eveo platform integrates multiple production steps into a closed system. The workflow includes cell selection, activation, gene modification, expansion, wash and concentration, and final formulation. Sartorius combines raw materials, bioreactors, separation technologies, software, and analytical capabilities within the system.
The platform’s design allows implementation in existing facilities with current staff and supports operation in lower-classification environments. It also supports both centralized and decentralized manufacturing models.
Sartorius collaborated with ElevateBio and other partners to evaluate the platform. A pilot project with ElevateBio demonstrated performance in line with design expectations.
The system’s multi-parallel configuration enables a single operator to process eight patient batches simultaneously in cleanroom space traditionally used for two batches. With an estimated manufacturing cycle of seven days per batch and 50 production weeks per year, the Eveo platform can produce more than 350 doses annually in a footprint that currently supports roughly 100 doses. Financial modeling indicates that the platform can reduce manufacturing costs by approximately 90 percent.
Quality control represents another key challenge in cell therapy production and product release. The Eveo platform integrates live cell imaging and high-throughput flow cytometry technologies to address analytical bottlenecks and support quality control workflows.
Sartorius plans to begin accepting orders for the Eveo Cell Therapy Platform in September 2026, with first deliveries expected in 2027. ElevateBio will receive access to one of the first Eveo platforms for use with its manufacturing customers.
