SCIEX introduced platform-wide advancements to its accurate-mass ZenoTOF line at the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) conference. The updates introduce new software features, broader front-end compatibility, and forward-looking collaborations designed to assist omics researchers in addressing complex biological questions. This connected environment reduces workflow complexity while enabling deeper insights from a single platform.
The deployment of SCIEX OS 5.0 software introduces new features across the platform, including a Central Metrics Tracker, Central Monitoring, a Reporter Template Creator, an AI-enabled helpme function, and AI-enabled Calculated Columns. Line-specific advancements include ZT Scan DIA 3.0, which combines data-independent acquisition with narrower Q1 isolation windows, enabling researchers to balance selectivity, sensitivity, and throughput. This technology underpins scalable proteomics and robust metabolomics. With enhanced sensitivity mode enabled, the ZenoTOF 8600 system demonstrates gains of approximately 10% to 40% in both identification and quantitation for low-input proteomics workflows using nanoflow.
Expanded front-end compatibility increases the flexibility of the ZenoTOF line. Integration with the Echo MS+ system creates the industry’s highest-throughput accurate mass platform, sampling at up to one sample per second and delivering enhanced sensitivity for high-throughput screening. For hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS), an integration with Trajan Scientific and Medical brings automation expertise and comprehensive data processing to deliver an integrated end-to-end solution for routine, high-sensitivity, zero-scrambling, amino-acid residue-resolved HDX-MS. New source enhancements also provide seamless compatibility with Evosep and IonOpticks, enabling researchers to use Whisper Zoom methods. An agreement between SCIEX and IonOpticks plans to expand access to advanced liquid chromatography solutions, including Aurora XS columns.
Collaborations across software platforms allow researchers to operate within existing pipelines. A key collaboration brings BSI's AI-based proteomic PEAKS software data processing across the ZenoTOF line to identify, quantify, and validate biomarkers in a single solution. Additionally, MS-Dial serves as a pioneering collaborator, translating ZT Scan DIA 3.0 measurements into metabolomics and lipidomics profiles. A collaboration with MZIO brings SCIEX data compatibility into mzmine, supporting scalable data processing and advanced feature extraction across diverse mass spectrometry workflows.
