SCIEX launched the novus V55 system, a next-generation triple quadrupole mass spectrometer engineered for the realities of high-pressure, results-driven laboratories. Introduced at ASMS, this quantitative solution provides exceptional sensitivity and accelerated output. The design expands testing capabilities across pesticide and food analysis, pharmaceutical impurities, bioanalysis, and PFAS testing.
The system delivers these advanced quantitative capabilities with a 35% smaller footprint, making it the most compact triple quad in its class. It also offers a smaller footprint and improved energy efficiency when compared to the SCIEX 5500+ system. Specifically, it achieves a 40% reduction in both energy consumption and laboratory cooling requirements, thereby lowering operational energy costs. Built on technology trusted worldwide, an OptiFlow source maintains robustness and sensitivity.
For high-throughput workflows, the system utilizes aeMRM (accelerated MRM) to acquire up to 1,000 MRMs per second. This feature increases sample throughput and expands testing capabilities while maintaining quantitative accuracy. On the software front, the new SCIEX OS 5.0 software introduces a Central Metrics Tracker for tracking performance and assay-level metrics, Central Monitoring for showing instrument status across the fleet, and a Reporter Template Creator to easily create customized reports.
The software platform also integrates two AI enablement tools. An AI-enabled HelpMe function answers feature- and functionality-related questions quickly via a natural language interface. Additionally, an AI-enabled Calculated Columns feature creates custom calculations for columns with natural language.

The system maintains compliance and operational confidence through LIMS support, 21 CFR Part 11, and compatibility with any LC system. This 5th generation system builds on a proven legacy in nominal mass that began with the launch of the TAGA 6000, the first commercial triple quadrupole, in 1981.
