This technical article looks at several ways to estimate column dead-time.

In Back-to-Basics #1 we looked at the retention factor, k, and how to calculate or estimate it. In order to perform either of these processes, we need to know the column dead time, t0. If we are using a UV detector and a “real” sample, usually there is an obvious disturbance in the baseline.
